Highlights of our past ventures

Radio:
|
Monday evening from 9-10 pm, Canadian Tamil broadcasting Corporation's Suhavalvu program broadcasted a health educational dialogue for the listeners with one of our member. This project was initiated & coordinated by Dr. C. Kirupananthan - Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist.

Television:
|
Sunday evening 8 pm Nalanthana health educational dialogue on Tamil Vision –TVI the first 24hr Tamil television in North America. This project was initiated & coordinated by Dr.V.Santhakumar - Family Physician.

Fund raising
|
We responded to the CT-Scan machine for Jaffna hospital fund raising appeal from Prof. V. Kunanandan - Neurosurgeon and collected nearly $5000 towards this project. A project coordinated by Dr.A.Thangaroopan-Consultant Psychiatrist.

Education

The following members participated voluntarily in the panel at health forums organized by various community groups working with the Tamil community in Toronto:

Community
|
We participated in discussions with other health care organizations in formulating programs for the benefit of the Tamil community.
We also participated in Walkathon 2001 organized by the Canada Ceylon Tamils Chamber of Commerce in aid of Scarborough Hospitals.
